This is a guest blog from the developers of Springwell Gardens, Citylife, highlighting some of their inspiration behind the design of the showstopping new development.
The Design - Rising, Curving, Cascading
Springwell Gardens’ unique, sail-like façade marks a departure from the city’s existing residential developments, creating a new relationship of building to skyline. Thoughtful interior design is combined with private, south-facing roof terraces and a residents-only garden to provide extra living spaces. The result; a progressive inside-outside living experience that encourages inclusive communities for people to experience the best of city living in our ever-evolving city.
Creation, Obsession, Legacy
The creation of unique architecture. An obsession with design. A legacy for the future. We are inspired by urban, sustainable living and a desire to bring this to Leeds, the city we call home. We love tradition and that’s why you’ll see so much of it echoed in our designs, but we also have a passion for the future and providing city dwellers with modern, thoughtful spaces they’ll feel proud to live in.
Why we love Leeds
A thriving business centre. A diverse and robust economy. A vibrant cultural environment. Outstanding value and high growth. From its roots in the industrial revolution to its place today as the economic centre of Yorkshire, Leeds has earnt its name as the powerhouse of the North. Welcome to Leeds, the Capital of the North.
Leeds is the UK’s second largest economy and the second financial centre after London. So how have we done it? Our diverse economy includes specialisms in renewable energy, digital technology, financial services, international tax, retail and mergers and acquisitions.
This breadth and depth provided much needed resilience during the recent economic turndown. Now, the city’s economy is worth £18bn and has grown 40% in the last decade. Our region now generates 5% of the national economic output and employs 1.4 million people.
Leeds has also seen an impressive array of recent developments including the £380m Trinity Leeds retail and leisure scheme, the £60m First Direct Arena and the £150 Victoria Gate development.
The city boasts 9 education institutions and has the UK’s largest student population with over 75,000 students, giving the city a constant stream of highly qualified talent.
The design of Springwell Gardens: A better place to live
People want to make the most of the space where they live. We couldn’t agree more. That’s why we’ve put a lot of thought into the design of our apartments. Take a look at our layouts. The inclusion of sprinkler systems in living areas means there’s no need for unattractive entrance hallways. The dead space those hallways took up has been incorporated into the living areas, giving residents more space. It just shows a simple idea can have a big impact.
The finest finish
They say quality speaks for itself and nowhere is this better exemplified than in the building of Springwell Gardens. By using efficient construction techniques and innovate design, high standards finishes can be offered. Residents will enjoy landscaped private terraces plus a residents-only communal garden, along with a host of further amenities, all thoughtfully designed to make city living comfortable.
